In 1995, A Miner Miracle became a San Franciso-based non-profit organization that provided professional clothing and Image counseling to low-income men, women and young adults seeking employment.
The purpose of the program is to help disadvantaged people enter the workplace by educating them to present themselves well and with pride. The program -- from providing work-appropriate clothing and grooming services to enhancing presentation skills -- not only improves employment potential but helps build self-esteem.
In 2012, A Miner Miracle expanded its net of giving to support causes that benefit the homeless, address the employment needs of low-income men, women and children, deal with issues of poverty, health and other crises facing the world community. We do this flexibly through a variety of programs, including direct services and fundraising for other organizations. Our mission is to empower people to improve their own lives and to lift up their communities.
Since our inception in 1995, our commitment has been steadfast to the dignity and empowerment of the clients that we serve. We have served more than 13,000 disadvantaged people. Our work has been recognized locally, Jefferson Awards, and nationally, including the “Oprah Angel Network” Award and a feature in LIFE Magazine.
